Ready to trade on the global markets?

You’re going to create and develop your own client portfolio in the Latin American market, a market in which IFC is proficient. You will be working closely together with our Buyers, who’re responsible for purchasing the goods. To build and maintain a strong relationship with your current and potential clients, you'll be travelling several weeks a year to visit companies in Latin America. Attending expos around the world, together with your colleagues, is part of the job as well. 

For this position, we're looking for candidates with an excellent command of the Spanish and English language. 

 

  • Starting salary of € 2.500 - € 3.500 based on 40 hours (ex. 8% holiday allowance and an attractive and transparent bonus scheme )

About the role

As a Trader you’re going to be responsible for developing our client portfolio by expanding our business and maintaining relations with our clients. An important part of the role is to visit your current and potential clients each quarter, and to join your colleagues at expos; IFC can be regularly found on international expos, e.g. the Americas Food & Beverage Show in Miami, the Seafood Expo in Barcelona and the Americas Expo in Guatemala. Depending on your client focus, you’re attending these expos.

  • Develop new business by actively reaching out to (potential) clients in Latin America via phone, WhatsApp and mail

  • Negotiate contracts and prices

  • Build and maintain your client portfolio 

  • Work closely together with your colleagues from the Logistics and Finance department to manage your business

  • Actively manage your debtors / outstanding invoices

  • Follow the market trends and use these in your advantage

 

About us

The America & Caribbean team is managed by Roderik Verkaik and is part of our Trading team (15 colleagues (and counting). The Trading department is split into Purchase and Sales, so you're working closely together with one of the Buyers to close the deal. Trading is our core business and the company's most fast-paced department. With our international team of colleagues, English is the working language.

At International Food Connectors we're working together with 30 colleagues. Next to our Trading department our colleagues work in Logistics, Finance and HR. The office is based at a fabulous place in Rotterdam, close to the Erasmus Bridge. It’s perfectly reachable by public transport and closely situated to coffee corners, lunch spots and supermarkets.

 

Our offer

  • A gross monthly starting salary of € 2.500 - € 3.500 (based on 40 hours), depending on your knowledge and experience + 8% holiday allowance

  • Attractive and transparent bonus scheme, starting at day one. Fully based on your margin and paid each quarter.

Job requirements

We’re looking for a Trader with some experience in commodity trading, preferably in the Latin American market. Someone with the right energy level and sales drive. Competences matching this position are (among others) resistance to stress, discipline, resilience, flexibility and customer focus. English is our working language. Besides this, we’re looking for someone with native Spanish language skills.
